Smart Personal Media Manager
MediaDrop started from a real personal problem. I wanted a simple way to download videos and audio from URLs, manage my personal media in one place, extract audio from videos, and play my content even when leaving the app — especially while listening in my car.
Before building MediaDrop, my workflow was complicated and time-consuming. I would download videos to my laptop, convert them into audio files, transfer and synchronize them with Apple Music, and then listen to them from my devices. I realized this process could be simplified into one seamless mobile experience.
Problem
Managing personal video and audio content required multiple steps: downloading files to a laptop, converting videos to audio, transferring media, synchronizing with Apple Music, and finally listening on mobile or in the car.
Solution
I built MediaDrop as an all-in-one personal media hub that brings media importing, downloading, audio extraction, video and audio playback, editing, and media organization into one application.
After building the product, I wanted to turn it into a sustainable independent business. As a solo developer and early-stage startup, I focused on building a growth strategy that could attract users and generate revenue while keeping user acquisition and marketing costs as low as possible.
